Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts. (Science and Health 261:4)
To quote the immortal Shakespeare as he is quoted on page iii of Science and Health, “There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”
Such a powerful citation.. one to memorize and have at hand when falling off the faith wagon… and to understand there is a direct relationship to our holding steadfastly to good and our experience… it’s all in thought so we do have a choice of how we think and process every single thing! Thank you!
What an inspired statement of Truth. In a materialistic world where it often seems appropriate to hold thought steadfastly to negativity, fear, doubt, anger and hatred, those words of Truth shine in the dark places and can wash away the tendency to believe the negatives are inevitable. Sometimes we may fear that speaking the truth will jinx us and that if we appear to accept the negative as real we will not be disappointed. But God is always Truth, goodness, eternal Life and we can acknowledge that and be free and joyful!
