Each year we find ourselves more and more grateful for the opportunity to take part in WADO’s Familia y Hogar Expo, and this year was no exception!  Thousands of people filled the convention center at the New York Hilton Midtown on Saturday, September 17th and hundreds of people crowded around the main stage to hear José de Dios Mata deliver his talk, “Living in the Kingdom of Heaven, right here and now.”

People of all ages were able to purchase Spanish Bibles and Science and Health from our booth and take home copies of El Heraldo de la Ciencia Cristiana.  Volunteers manned the booth from 10am until 5pm along with Jose and Liz Mata. Many conversations took place with expo attendees who shared more about Christian Science and how they have found it practical in their lives.

Now over 27% of New Yorkers are Hispanic, making this group the largest minority in the city.  Our church has committed to continue serving this community as best we can.  That’s why we are taking steps to offer weekly church services in Spanish.  If you or someone you know is interested in attending a service in Spanish, please sign-up for our Spanish email newsletter using the form below and we will keep you informed about Third Church’s Spanish activities!
