If you’ve been surfing the internet or tv channels lately, you may have heard the catch phrase “keeping it 100,” which means to be totally honest and true to yourself, one hundred percent. This phrase reflects the power of honesty. When we stay true to ourselves, we are whole.
In Acts chapters 4 through 6, we see many great examples of this spiritual power in action. Peter and John, when they were arrested and brought before the Sanhedrin, didn’t back down from their claim that they were doing God’s work. In the face of what was certainly going to be a brutal punishment, they denied the Pharisees request to stop preaching and teaching, and continued to proclaim the gospel to the people. The rulers released Peter and John, and immediately afterward the people who heard the good news experienced an unprecedented unity of purpose, contributing everything they had toward the good of the community.
Join us this Sunday, March 22nd at 1:00pm for group Bible Study in the Sunday School. At this meeting we will be discussing these stories in Acts, chapters 4 through 6, and how we can find the strength to “keep it 100” in our own lives.
Very exciting to see this study option. Shared in the Christian Science Weekly Bible Lesson group on Facebook. Do you think the study group at your church could add a free conference call number so we could all listen in? What a loving event you are offering! Thank you for your dedication to sharing the inspired word of the Bible
