Empower Series

The purpose of Jesus’ three-year ministry, which culminated with his resurrection and subsequent ascension, was to show all of us how to demonstrate our oneness with the Father.

As many do today, the disciples misunderstood the teachings of Jesus.  The disciples saw Jesus deliver many from oppression by healing the sick, bringing sight to the blind, and raising the dead as an example for all mankind.  However, it was not until after the resurrection that the disciples understood that Divine Mind or the law of God, which is available to all of us, did the healing and not Jesus the man.

Jesus knew his Father so well that he knew beyond a shadow of doubt each time he commanded the lame to walk, the blind to see, or the dead to rise that it was his Father that did the work.  Jesus was convinced that his Father would never fail him and that his laws were in constant operation.

One morning, Jesus and his disciples were hungry and when they saw a fig tree they went over to the tree to eat its fruit.  However, they found the tree had no fruit and Jesus actually spoke to the tree and told it, with utmost confidence, that no man would ever eat fruit from the tree again.  Shortly thereafter, the tree withered and died.

The disciples were amazed to see this tree obey the words of Jesus so quickly. Jesus told his disciples, “Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, ‘Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.’ And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” (see Matt. 21:19-22)

The infinite possibilities that Jesus demonstrated could not be shared by the disciples at that time. Like many of us now, the disciples only wished they could perform the acts that Jesus did.  It was not until after the resurrection that the disciples’ thought was raised to greater heights of understanding.

It was Jesus’ great hope that his mission, which included great love and sacrifice demonstrated by his resurrection and ascension, would affectively teach all mankind to have dominion over all the earth and be free.

“Let us do our work; then we shall have part in his resurrection.” Mis 180:18

He Changed The World

Jesus healed the sick and sinning
He made the blind to see
He made the wine from water
He set the woman free
He calmed the storm at sea
He overcame gravity
He overcame time and space

He changed the world and his followers too
He taught the Truth so they could see through
Their worn-out ways
He changed the world then for all of us too
He sends the light so we can see through
Our clouds of gray
And free our shadowed ways
(He Changed the World)

Christ heals the sick and sinning
He makes the blind to see
He calms the angry waters
He fights to set us free
From life’s dark mystery
To live in eternity
and humble the shades of doom

If I live my life with courage
and wave the flag of truth
That tears the veil of mass illusion
I’ll claim the victory

He changes me and his followers too
He teaches Truth so we can see through
Our fallen ways
He changed the world then for all of us too
And sends the light so we can see through
Our clouds of gray
And free our hopeless ways
(He Changed the World yes He Changed the World)
